Profile description
Thanks for visiting my Clerksroom profile.
I'm a London-based business lawyer giving expert advice on civil and public law. I help business and government to act within the law and help individuals defend their rights.
I pride myself on being practical, cost-effective and on-time. I advise a very wide range of clients, including local authorities, professionals, businesses and individuals. I try to solve legal disputes before they escalate, but, if necessary, I can represent clients in court and guide them through the entire process from start to finish.
I believe in sharing what I've learned. In January 2016, I founded Law, mostly, a fee legal blog that makes sense of the law for the public. You can read what my clients have to say about me here.
I enjoy a thriving practice in 2 areas:
BUSINESS LAW
I am an expert in employment law and civil litigation. Drawing on my years of experience as a project manager, I'm fully familiar with the issues faced by SMEs and start-ups in the UK. I provide bespoke legal advice on contracts, employment policies and practices, company law and business tenancies. I do this in a friendly, down-to-earth and professional manner. I find commercial solutions to your legal problems, saving you time, money and reducing risk.
My cases have involved:
- race discrimination with one of the world's largest multinationals;
- proving dishonesty by lawyers in a firm;
- settling a complex dispute over the construction of a multi-million pound house after mediation;
Advising both companies and individuals gives me a balanced perspective. I'm realistic. If I can't help you, or if I think your case is weak, I will tell you before you incur further legal costs.

PUBLIC LAW
I can assist you with your or your family's immigration applications, from visas to settlement. Since the Brexit referendum, I have assisted a number of EEA nationals seeking to protect their status in the UK. You can read my Brexit survival guide here for FREE.
I act in the full range of immigration, asylum and nationality cases for adults, families and minors from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, to name a few.
Child rights are important to me. I have defended families facing eviction and advised in disputes over special educational provision for profoundly disabled children and young persons. I also defend and prosecute professionals in the education, health and social care sectors in cases of alleged misconduct.
My achievements include:
- successfully defending a teacher who faced regulatory prosecution for alleged professional misconduct over a period of 3 years;
- co-counsel in R (Medical Justice and others) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (2016). As featured in the Guardian, the case challenged the government’s re-definition of torture.
