He is a former partner with a firm in Plymouth and has significant experience as an advocate including in the following specialist areas:
Personal Injury - Employer's Liability
Regularly instructed in all key EL areas including Work Equipment, Manual Handling, Workplace and COSHH matters.
Personal Injury - Public Liability
Significant experience of highway tripping and nuisance claims, Defective Premises/Landlord and Tenant cases.
Regularly advises on matters involving serious injuries with general damages over £50,000.00. Regularly represents claimants in claims against local authorities and providers of public services.
Alex is a member of the Personal Injury Bar Association.
Road Traffic
Regularly instructed for both claimants and defendants in RTA cases. He has excellent experience in assessing quantum in serious injury cases and has proved himself to be a fearless advocate for his clients in this field. Alex is also very experienced in claimant RTA/PI fraud and is happy to act for both claimant and defendant in these matters
Written Advice
Alex regularly provides written advices for a wide range of matters providing advice on quantum, part 36 settlements, liability and litigation strategy.
In-house Clinics
Alex provides in-house clinics to law firms with high volumes of personal injury and employers liability work. He is happy (on a pro bono basis) to spend time in clients offices considering and advising on cases brought to him for consideration and to have conferences with clients to assess the merits of their case.
Seminars/training/lectures
Alex is a key member of the Clerksroom CPD provision team - prividing free in house CPD to law firms nationwide. Alex is always happy to provide seminars, training or lectures on any of the fields of law in which he practices.
International law
Alex has a Masters degree in International Law from Bristol University. He has advised on several international law matters across a spectrum of legal specialisms and is keen to gain more experience in this field.
