George is public access accredited and licensed to conduct litigation. He principally undertakes instructions in the following areas:
Employment Law
Before joining Clerksroom George worked as a specialist employment law solicitor and employment tribunal advocate representing both claimants and respondents in a broad range of employment law matters. George has represented clients in complex claims and group litigation claims with multiple clients and/or multiple opponents.
He has an impressive knowledge of the following areas of employment law; unfair dismissal cases regarding conduct, redundancy capability and ‘some other substantial reason’ dismissals; discrimination claims due to age, race, sex, pregnancy & disability; ‘TUPE’ transfers, protective awards, equal pay, unlawful deductions of wages claims (including complex cases regarding the national minimum wage and ‘sleep in/on call’ job roles), breaches of the Working Time Regulations 1998, automatically unfair dismissals for trade union membership and/or protected disclosures and applications for interim relief; breach of contract claims and wrongful dismissal.
George is happy to provide written advice or drafting services in any employment law matter as well as advocacy services.
Regulatory / Professional Discipline
George also has extensive experience of representing nurses and paramedics at all stages of ‘fitness to practice’ hearings in front of the conduct and competence committees (CCC) of their respective professional bodies; the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
Further, George has represented social workers before the Care Council for Wales and has experience of Education Workforce Council fitness to practice committee hearings.
As well as the litigation work George will draft and deliver bespoke employment law/HR training to suit his client’s needs.
Personal Injury
George regularly attends infant settlement hearings, MOJ Portal Stage 3 disposal hearings, case management hearings, small claims and fast track trials in a broad spectrum of personal injury matters including Road Traffic Collisions, Occupiers Liability/Public Liability, Employers Liability and Highways Act claims.
George is happy to prepare written opinions on liability, quantum, particulars of claim and defences.
Inquests
George also has experience representing bereaved families in Coroner’s courts.
General Civil
George enjoys a broad knowledge of mixed civil litigation and accepts instructions in a variety of civil law hearings including; housing possession cases, bankruptcy and winding up petitions, return of goods hearings, charging orders, applications for summary judgments, applications to set aside default judgments, small claims hearings and fast track matters.
George has a good knowledge of the following areas of law; landlord and tenant, mortgage possession, negligence, contract, commercial debt, insolvency, consumer rights and consumer credit.

George was born and raised in Devon but is now based in Cardiff. George will travel to courts and tribunals nationwide. In his spare time he enjoys clay pigeon shooting and also cooking, a passion born from his previous employment as a chef.
