Andrew routinely acts for both claimants and defendants and has appeared at County Court and High Court level. His court work ranges from interim application hearings and one-day trials, to five-day multi track trials, complex and high value High Court proceedings and appeals. Andrew also helps clients with all interim applications, including costs assessments and enforcement of Judgement work.
Unusually for a direct access barrister, Andrew can provide a full litigation service from inception to completion of the case, including costs work. Andrew prides himself on being friendly and approachable, and providing sound, commercial and practical advice to resolve disputes whilst also representing clients in court robustly where required.

Insurance Claims
Andrew has advised extensively on cases involving indemnity from insurance companies, refusal of indemnity / cover under a policy, and disputes over policy coverage. Andrew has a very firm understanding of the principles behind ATE insurance policies, including within the legal expenses insurance context.
Property and Housing
Andrew has experience of representing claimants and defendants in disrepair claims, rent repayment orders, tenancy deposit recovery claims, service charges, section 21 evictions and other landlord and tenant disputes.
Examples of landlord and tenant cases include a High Court litigation including a warrant of stay on a multi million pound property case, also helping clients on landlord and tenant cases including illegal evictions, defence of disrepair claims for private landlords, defending harassment claim from a landlord, helping a landlord with section 21 notice and defending a case for a tenant where notices of eviction has not been served properly as well as defence of an injunction in a social housing case.
Andrew advises and represents clients more widely in property disputes, advising on prescriptive rights over land, easement disputes, advising on a large equity claim on a property dispute involving gifts / lifetime interest, advising on the scope of a license in a commercial property dispute and a number of boundary disputes on private property. Andrew has been instructed by mortgagees in cases involving possession and repossesion cases, stays of execution and the removal of receivers.
Housing, Construction and Building Disputes
Andrew has experience acting for claimants and defendants in areas such as building disputes (including Party Wall Act claims), Japanese knotweed, cavity wall cases, leaseholder disputes and disrepair cases related to freeholders and leaseholders. Andrew also has experience of boundary disputes.
Personal Injury, Clinical Negligence & Inquests
Andrew assists claimants and defendants on a wide range of personal injury and clinical negligence claims including occupier's liability, defective premises, injuries caused to tenants, disease litigation, travel claims, credit hire and employers liability cases. Andrew has acted for claimants and insurers for over 10 years.
Civil Fraud
Andrew has experience of assisting clients in relation to civil fraud cases, primarily involving motor fraud with some assistance in relation to property fraud cases, but also issues related to advising policyholders and companies with regards to policy coverage and indemnity issues. Andrew also has vast experience of dealing with fundamental dishonesty cases in personal injury and clinical negligence, and advising clients on costs issues and applications in relation to the same
Professional Negligence
Andrew has acted for clients in professional negligence actions involving negligent advice given by solicitors in personal injury and clinical negligence claims. He is happy to accept instructions to advise and represent clients in relation to negligence claims against other non-legal professionals.
Contract Law/ Debt Claims
Andrew assists both claimants, individuals and SMEs with contractual disputes such a disputes over products, Consumer Rights Act 2015 cases, and cases related to supply of goods or services. Andrew's breach of contract practice includes claims against travel agents and tour operators for failures of service, as well as all manner of travel and holiday sickness (PI) claims. Andrew also advises individuals on debt recovery and the defence of debt or contract claims.
