Professional background
LLB Hons – University of Wolverhampton, 1997
Legal Practice Course – College of Law, Chester, 1998 (commendation)
Solicitor – Qualified in 2001
Higher Rights of Audience (Civil) granted 2010

Andrew started his legal career at Mendelsons Solicitors, Manchester, in 1997 – a personal injury practice concentrating largely on bulk RTA work with emphasis on credit repair and credit hire. Working closely with a non-RTA specialist, Andrew ran complex, often high-value matters from an early stage in his career.
He progressed to Amelans Solicitors, Didsbury, where he became head of the non-RTA department (the company’s first). Nine years later the company had gone from being largely RTA-based firm to having approximately 70% of its cases of a non-RTA nature.
Andrew says:
“Although new to the Bar, I believe I have a lot of relevant experience and skills that will prove my worth as a barrister and bring positive results to all concerned.
“I consider myself to be a specialist in most areas of personal injury litigation. In particular, my knowledge and experience of public and employers’ liability matters I would confidently claim to be at least equal to if not greater than many more experienced barristers.
“More generally, I believe that my lawyer’s background makes me more effective and approachable as a barrister, as I am well aware of the commercial realities of cases – and what I can do to make work and life a little easier for solicitors and clients.
“Above all, I am determined, hard-working and eager to succeed. I look forward to working alongside you on your next case.”
Outside the office
After his wife and young son, Andrew’s two main passions are cars and music.
He also enjoys photography – particularly travel photography, in which he used to dabble in a past, pre-baby life.
