PRACTICE AREAS Commercial Law •Recent instructions in this area include: •Representing banks in various claims, including for the return of money mistakenly paid out under a trust. •Representing a building company in the High Court regarding a disputed statutory demand served pursuant to a personal guarantee. •Representing the defendant in respect of injunctive proceedings relating to intellectual property rights. •Representing numerous clients in respect of insolvency and company matters. Construction Having completed an MSc in Construction and Dispute Resolution, I am building upon the links between my other established practice areas in order to establish myself in this field. Further, after receiving a distinction in my Arbitral Award Writing Examination (as part of my MSc), I am also now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. •Recent instructions in this area include: •Representing a client at an adjudication pursuant to the Scheme for Construction Contracts (England and Wales) Regulations 1998. •Drafting the pleadings in an arbitration pursuant to the CIArb Business Arbitration Scheme. •Representing numerous clients in mediations, for example, in respect of defective building works. •Obtaining a final charging order in the TCC in respect of a multi-million-pound construction dispute. •Advising and representing numerous clients in respect of defective building works. Property Recent instructions in this area include: •Advising and drafting in a claim for damage caused by encroaching tree roots. •Representing both landlords and tenants in various matters before the First-tier Tribunal (Property) Chamber. •Obtaining an interim injunction for the removal of an unauthorised building on Council property. •Advising in numerous leasehold enfranchisement matters. •Drafting and advising in respect of claims pursuant to the Party Wall Act 1996, nuisance and trespass. •Representing a pharmaceutical company in proceedings pursuant to the LTA 1954. Additionally, I am on the LexisNexis Q & A Panel in respect of both property and construction law.
