Profile description
Lisa receives instructions on a full range of family law matters. This includes children law matters involving child arrangements orders (previously residence and contact disputes), special guardianship orders and issues relating to parental responsibility. Lisa also has particular experience dealing with contested final hearings and fact finding hearings and has developed her skills dealing with witnesses over a number of years, during which her experience in the criminal courts has been invaluable.
In care proceedings, Lisa represents local authorities, parents and guardians (and other family members such as grandparents) and thus has a broad overview of such proceedings, including appearing in lengthy fact finding and final hearings. Lisa also has experience attending the FDAC court.
Further, Lisa receives instructions with respect to applications for financial orders at all stages of proceedings, as well as drafting consent orders and advising generally with respect to marriage, judicial separation, divorce and financial issues. This also includes advising with respect to cohabitees and beneficial interests.
Lisa regularly conducts injunction hearings under the Family Law Act 1996 including contested final hearings, breach proceedings and committals. Furthermore, this also includes experience of conducting injunction applications under section 3 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Lisa has also conducted cases involving the official solicitor and has advised on capacity issues.
Lisa has also attended the Care Standards Tribunal on behalf of an appellant child minder.
