Civil litigation
Jala has very solid experience of civil litigation and accept instructions to advise and represent clients across a wide range of civil disputes including the following:
- Business and commercial law (including international disputes)
- Breach of contract and debt recovery
- Bankruptcy and Insolvency
- Intellectual property (trademark disputes and passing off)
- Property law (see below)
Property law
Jala has vast experience of dealing with possession and repossession hearings, landlord and tenant (commercial and residential), lease disputes and boundary disputes.
Her practice in property law includes the following:
- Landlord and Tenant claims in relation to commercial and residential tenancies
- Residential and commercial licences
- Boundary, neighbour and nuisance disputes
- Housing
In addition to the above, Jala has dealt with complex property matters allocated to the multi-track which featured issues relating to trusts and wills.
Family law (Children Act)
Jala's Children Act practice sees her accepting instructions on a wide variety of cases, including those featuring allegations of domestic abuse, public law (care proceedings) and adoption.
She has experience of the following issues in proceedings:

- Prohibited Steps Order
- Specific Issue Order
- Enforcement Applications
- Local Authority involvement

Jala accepts instructions to represents applicants and respondents throughout the duration of Children Act proceedings from First Hearing Dispute Resolution Appointments (FHDRAs) through to Final Hearings. She also welcomes instructions to deal with contested fact-finding proceedings.
Jala is experienced when it comes to advising and representing clients in relation to various injunctive remedies before the family courts including contested applications for non-molestation orders, occupation orders and prohibitive steps orders.
Family law (Divorce and Financial Settlement)
Jala's divorce and financial settlement practice sees her representing clients throughout proceedings from FDA, FDR to Final Hearings. She has experience of dealing with the following issues in proceedings:
- Equity in the Former Matrimonial Home
- Business assets
- Pensions
- Non-disclosure
- Overseas business and property assets
- Variation applications
- Maintenance pending suit
- Enforcement
She has worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and is experienced in dealing with various cultural issues arising from divorce proceedings. Jala also accepts instructions on Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) cases.
Personal Injury
Jala represents both Claimants and Defendants on small track and fast track personal injury claims arising from road traffic accidents, occupiers liability and employers liability disputes. She also has experience in Stage 3 hearings, out of the portal disposal hearings and matters involving allegations/findings of fundamental dishonesty. Jala has also undertaken written work such as drafting advice on quantum, pleading, advising on prospects of success, advising on appropriate Part 36 offers and drafting skeleton arguments.

In her spare time Jala enjoys swimming, reading books and having regular weekend-breaks in the countryside with her family. Jala also enjoys cooking and hosting dinners.
